Get a Defoe or Owen type alongside him and I suspect they'd form a formidable partnership. Not many of those around now and not many managers play a 442 these days.

DCL has arguably been one of the best performers over Big Dunc's three league games, perhaps along with Sidibe in his two games that he played, and Mina.

No, he's not a prolific scorer at the moment, but he certainly does a job and he can bully some of the best central defenders around. People forget he's still only 22 and the vast majority of strikers won't reach their peak until their mid-late 20's. Look at where Jamie Vardy was when he was 22, FFS.

No surprise as he’s more suited to hoof ball and being a dogs body. Will never have the quality or finesse needed to go to the next level which is what we need

He runs into dead ends then does his back heel to no one (I know that one of them luckily went to our player a few games ago but they generally just lose us possession). Likes to take pressure of the opposition's defence by giving way needless free kicks. He did it again today towards the end when he flattened the guy from a 5 yard run up - always going to be a free kick to the defender. I don't think that it's a long term strategy of bullying the defender in order to reap the rewards later on (he rarely does) I just think it's a lack of intelligence...………..attackers bundle into defender because, well, er, that's what they do isn't it? Get rid as soon as humanly possible!

He’s not a goalscorer, but his general play is much better than I previously thought. Really impressed with him since Dunc has come in. He clearly has more belief now.

Why does he get criticised more than other players when he is improving game by game and has been one of our best players of late?

Because people say he’s the next shearer , drogba , sharp and give people dogs abuse when they say he’s not good at kicking a football

He needs somebody decent beside him...tosun was not good partner for him...

He could have a prime van basten playing along side him.... he still wouldn’t be able to shoot

That will get us top 6 NOT.

Last time we won the league our main striker scored 5 in 27 which equates to 18 in 100 so if all round play is good it is still possible.

But highly unlikely, we need a striker getting 15/20 a season regular DCL won’t do that. We need better up top.

I agree I would rather have a new striker and DCL off the bench. However I was pointing out goals aren't everything.
