Probably, 'fans' hate to admit they were wrong. Look at the grief he gets now because 'fans' made their minds up about his ability and hate to see he is proving them wrong, it's all a bit sad, you would think everyone of us would be buzzing he's playing well and scoring.
He has 15 goals in 32 games this season. That is a very good return given our midfield crisis. He's still very raw bit it's insane that some posters want to talk rubbish about one of the positive things that happened for us this year.
No doubt that he’s put the ball in the net but how many of them did he scuff and limped over the line? Also how many more could he have had but made a complete mess of them? I’m happy he’s scoring but his goals are not sustainable without an endless supply of luck. I’ve made my opinion of him based off what he’s doing on the field week in and week out not an arbitrary rash decision.

He needs to improve or he will be riding the bench for the remainder of his contract when his luck runs out.

???? so now he's scoring goals we're complaining how he is scoring them, Goal is a goal m8.

He's fluffed plenty no one is denying that.

That is just pure diluted nonsense to suggest that at all.

Most strikers miss chances mate, otherwise they'd all be 3 in 1 strikers getting hat tricks ever week wouldn't they. Who cares if the ball goes in off his arse, he got himself into that position in the first place, movement is a thing in football did you know.

STEVEN BERGHUIS has been warned not to ruin his career by joining a club like Everton.

The £23million-rated Feyenoord winger has his eyes set on a Premier League return after a spell at Watford five years ago.

And his form this season has alerted a number of leading clubs.

But former Spurs star Rafael van der Vaartreckons Berghuis should remain in Holland after becoming a regular starter in the national team.

He said: “I think he should stay with Feyenoord.

“He is the man there, the team is built around him.

“Do you have to go to somewhere like Everton when you are almost 29?

“If you go there and don’t play well for two games they will replace you with a clumsy Englishman and you will be out of the picture with the national team.”

VDV has nailed DCL there like lol lol

Stop it mate, it’s really weird

I don't think being in the right place more this season is down to luck. I think it is mostly down to training and learning.

That overhead kick... pure luck.

A very peculiar individual @ForeverBlue92 is
He will run and
To have a decline you would have to be good in the first place.

I wouldn't say decline more reverting back to normal after a purple patch of capitalising on goalkeeping calamities and defender mistakes.
you a proper lad you lah
Proper lad ! Love it lah

( please don’t report me again lad )

The sort of goals he is scoring now are similar to the ones Lukaku used to get which aren’t valued much by fans. He’ll get on the end of a tap in or on the end of a header and everyone goes ‘well he couldn’t miss from there’. What fans don’t seem to value is the run to get him in that position where he’s out thought and outsprinted a defender to get there first. Previous slow and unintelligent strikers we’ve had in the past such as Beattie wouldn’t be anywhere near the danger area when those balls come in. Strikers like Jelavic and Tosun have the brains to do it but can’t beat their man to get on the end of these sort of moves. It’s only really been Lukaku and now DCL and Richarlison who have got both attributes but some Everton fans seem to prefer a McFadden type who will get you 5 beautiful goals a season rather than a DCL who might get you 15 ugly ones.

Berghuis isn't even a striker so he wouldn't even be in direct competition with DCL.

Like anyone's arsed on what that midget whopper Van Derv Vaarts thoughts are either.

You don't half post some tosh, but you've managed to outdo even yourself on this one, quite the achievement.

Why would you have that attitude though? Why not get behind him?
Didn’t know it was a requirement. Maybe you should see your way to Schniederlin’s thread and tell those people... or Davies’... or Delph’s... or Keane’s.

Point is as long as he continues scoring goals he serves a purpose but I have serious doubts he will with his current level of ability. Also having a player that believes their current level is good enough just because they are scoring goals never breeds improvement.

If he does, I’m not going to settle with him being a top level prem striker just because he hits the 20 goal mark. Benteke and Charlie Austin both got to the 20 goal mark and both were deemed as top strikers but what are they doing now?

I want him to prove me wrong and would be happy if he does as it would show he has ten fold the amount of determination as players like Neymar who are naturally gifted and can get on just on that alone
