That wasnt his fault and was more down to crap recruitment like not securing Giroud etc but you cant expect fans to worship a player who was bang average just because they were young otherwise people are out of order for criticising Davies.

Dixie Dean would have not scored much in his pomp in that team last season mate, never mind the lazy past it Giroud - Dixie Dean had one great winger to supply his goals on seeing Peter Thompson & Ian Callahan hit the scene for the other lot in the mid 1960s he laughed & stated Good grief if I had those two on either flank in my era I would have topped over 100 goals per season....
Getting to DCL we have now got him and Rhico a better midfield we now need a complete winger fast who can beat a fullback, and cross accurately into the box to threaten the top two - our league winning teams always had one or two - Johnny Morrissey, Trevor Stephen earlier Derek Temple, all great wingers who chipped in with goals too - who do we have now Walcott, & a promising Iwobi if made into a winger ..... those other former wingers had class in abundance.. The Centre forwards got their supply of crosses they all scored goals ......
Dave Thomas was another winger who supplied the Latch for all his goals too we nearly won something then......

They did it missed out Alex Chico Scott in the 1963 championship side we stole from Rangers he was on his way down to sign for Spurs until our manage jumped on a train and signed him lol
But no that's what we are missing imo
A fast winger who can chip in with goals, and supply the goals for DCL and Rhico - as you say the anticipation of a winger leaving a full back for dead getting to the by line & planting a perfect cross is a great sight to see.....

In a good man management style i think he's had good chats with him. Not only about staying more central but just maturing as a main striker.

is it ok if people like me, who supported DCL 3 years ago and wanted to give him loads of time and patience...are we allowed to say anything?
