2020/21 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Pretty much every top team plays with one central striker, and I don't think there's a single manager in world football who would choose Calvert-Lewin to lead the line over Kane.

You're comparing a good striker to a great one.
Kane is world class imo. DCL not there yet in terms of his track record. Don’t get me wrong, don’t think there are many better CFs around at the minute than DCL, and it’s great to see him playing so well, but Kane is a better player.

The same as Lukaku then?

When Calvert Lewin starts scoring the types of goals Lukaku scored against Arsenal, Chelsea, Bournemouth, Kiev, Wolfsburg etc. then he truly will be the complete striker. I’m not knocking DCL at all, all strikers have aspects they’re better at than others. His penalty box movement is exceptional, he’s probably the best in the world in the air, his hold up play his improved massively. He’s not yet the sort of striker though to run past two and then curl one in from the edge of the box with his wrong foot. That’s the sort of thing Kane in his prime could do, make a goal from nothing, I don’t think DCL has that yet, but like I said all strikers are different.

I don’t think DCL will ever be curling in 25 yarders (happy to be proved wrong), but if he can consistently score 20 + goals a season then he’ll still be considered a top striker.

If they are both sold, who is going for more?

We will see. Let's see who scores more goals from open play this season.

Lukakus record against the top 6 was modest.

Nobody is saying DCL is better than peak Kane, only this seasons Kane.

Never understood this need for 20+ goal to be a good striker. Not many players get 20+ goals in a season. It's a huge number.

2019/20 - 4
2018/19 - 4
2017/18 - 4
2016/17 - 5
2015/16 - 3

20 goals would be the yardstick for a top class striker, which there aren’t many of as you say. 10 plus to be in the “good PL striker” bracket imo.

It was an outstanding performance from Dom today. Even in that second half when the rest of the team were humiliating themselves, he was acting as a lone striker winning headers, holding up play, getting tactical fouls, etc. He's coming on very nicely.

Completely agree, all strikers are different and Dom is very good at playing to his strengths. I just think the comparisons to Kane aren’t very effective, Kane is now almost playing as a number 10, DCL will never play that type of role.

sake Joey do you tell kids Santa isn't real? We're talking about striker vs striker who would teams take, We're not talking about what kind of salary and bonuses DCL has in his contract.
No one will move for a player installed very good team on high wages ...like Kane ..
Yet if , and a big if our performances are of that 2nd half fashion money will talk DCL will stay only if we perform like we did in the first half as if a big club comes calling it will be hard to keep him on that 2nd half plus our last 3 games - we desperately need to get back into winning early season form .....

Kane has been a great goal scorer and is still a very good one. Calvert Lewin is now a better goalscorer and therefore striker. I said pretty early on in the season DCL would get more goals in open play, and hes miles ahead of Kane currently.

Kane gets assists which is fine. Hed be a good midfielder, but that's not the question.

Calvert Lewin is a better goal scorer than harry kane because of the first 10 games?

Mate Harry kane is on a different planet to 99.99% strikers on the planet and in my opinion only bested by lewandowski.

DCL has been boss so far but Harry kane ATM is still a better striker
