Never going to be a striker who'll pick the ball up deep and create something for himself. Just back from injury and looking a little sluggish, however, he had zero service really aside from that one cross from Digne.

Give him that chance again on Saturday and he'll bury it.

holds the ball up well though so and can be an attacking outlet that way so don't think that's necessarily a problem

He's become a 'fox in the box' which is great in terms of him having scored more goals, but we have lost that outlet that he used to give us where he'd run the channels and chase everything. At times it's a bit like having 10 men because he's just not involved in the game. That's not a criticism of him, he's obviously doing what he's instructed to do, but it's a difficult one in terms of balance. At times we need that old DCL back who will just tirelessly give defenders a real working over I think.

As someone mentions above, he is never going to be a scorer of epic goals from distance or of his own making, which is why he got so much flak in previous seasons as he was not getting the ball in the box but in the flanks or outside the box, his hold up play is excellent but he is indeed, a fox in the box goal scorer, not a beat 3 men and curl in the top corner type.

Like Lineker was and look were that got us.

Are people seriously forgetting how good he is outside of the box at times? He won the penalty v Chelsea all on his own where I don’t think 95% of strikers win, he nearly scored a wonder goal from 25 yards v Arsenal but for a wonder save, which led to the corner we scored from, nearly scored a wonder goal v Shef United all on his own... his performance v Chelsea and Arsenal was brilliant in him winning free kicks and getting us up the pitch, we don’t win that game without him imo with how effective he was at relieving pressure. Only game he was poor was West Ham which Carlo admitted he was injured.

He should be the last of our concerns, such a good all round striker now and our fans are straight laying into him for not scoring in a few games we’ve effectively parked the bus in and ground out results brilliantly in.

Most the games recently have involved him being so isolated, wins a flick on and has to chase it himself at times. Needs extra bodies in the box when crosses come in, too often we cross it with just him in the box when needs 2/3 more in. Just transferred him in FPL so I’m fully ready for him to not score for 10 more games hahahah
