You never said he could be the new Aguero though you said he’d look a cart horse in that side which is just a dumb thing to say.

My point was that he would look completely out place in a team that moves the ball like they do.

Perhaps that would change under a different manager, but I very much doubt that he'd get a sniff under Guardiola.

Think you’re being unfair on his game tbh. He’s got all the tools to play in any side for me. He’s not the best striker in the world or anything like that but could do great things in an attacking team. I’m actually looking forward to the day we have to sell so he’s hopefully appreciated elsewhere.

He's not the right player for their current style but he'd score 25 with those creative players if they did play in a way that suited him.

Well, I suppose we'll just have to wait and see if they decide to rebuild their team on that basis.

It's not as if they have taken good players from us before like is it ?

I think he will hopefully stay with us, with the support of the fans & club etc the same with Rhico as those two plus Godferey are the only pace we have .......

He does more work for us getting the ball up the field than the whole midfield combined some games

I know it’s a DCL thread, I didn’t bring Pickford up. The whole context of my discussion was based on this which you haven’t gone back to check on. You’ve seen one post of mine and seen it as me just criticising DCL.

He was bang in-form when we were able to play more in and around the final third. As much athleticism as he has and his footwork has certainly improved, he still shouldn't be needing to drop as deep as the half way line to receive the ball unless we're countering.

His strengths also do not fit in with how Guerdiola plays, and Guerdiola in principle does not use player types like DCL (Target men). Think the chances are greater that Manchester United are interested.

Why does it matter if Guardiola won’t play him in this imaginary team? Does it make him a worse football player? It just means DCLs style doesn’t suit one particular type of manager, who cares. Carlo got 15 goals out of DCL, prob going to get 20 by the end of the season.

It means nothing, except that I doubt he is on City's wish list, and that's good for us.

I get the feeling that the players know Pickford is a dead man walking and kinda want to distance themselves from him.
