Played ok first half, held it up, ran the flanks quite well. Second half he didn't seem to make any runs at all. Let's blame tiredness and move on!

Richarlison did and he didn't even manage to get an effort on target.
Felt sorry for him, works so hard for the team but nothing created for him.

3 goals in the last 16 league games. Either he's doing something very wrong or the team is badly failing him. Carlo needs to figure that out quickly and remedy it so we don't go into next season with the same issues.
Bit of both. He's had plenty of opportunities to score in his last 5-10 games but at the same time we don't exactly create 10's of chances a game.
Incredible improvement to his game this year, have my doubts whether he's the full package though. Would like some competition for him next season - Kean or someone else.

Yup, I fully agree it's a bit of both. His 1:1s with the goalkeeper needs big improvement and he doesn't have the finesse yet as a top striker. You can never imagine him scoring from outside of the area, from a charging Lukaku-type run or giving the keeper the eyes before slotting past him. It's allays scrappy goals or headers, which are great, except we just don't bother getting the ball to his head any more / somehow don't have the ability to cross a football.
We need a proper top winger this summer to come in and need to mix it up more to find his head, because he'll win the aerial duel more often than not.
Him, Richarlison, Kean and a younger striker I'd like to see as our options. If Kean goes to fund other players, then let's bring in two strikers please, as Richarlison isn't staying more than one more year and it'll be easier to replace him with three strikers already settled in the squad.
I actually think Richarlison is better through the middle too so we really need two wide players at least to play each wing. We're so desperatel;y crying out for width, certain Carlo can see it too. Ideally get rid of King, Bernard, Iwobi and maybe even Kean (+Walcott's contract expires) to bring in 2 wide players and a forward to replace them.
I really think our forwards are really lacking. It's not always about the service. DCL hardly makes any intelligent runs to help midfield carve out chances for them. He never really exploits any space. Richy at the moment looks like he's lost all ability to pass the ball
I think he got asked to stop doing that and concentrate on being in the box.

I have been watching the blues since 1963,- that midfield last night with all the money spent was dross - slow - passing sideways plus backwards - any top forwards would struggle with that motley crew behind them - passing the ball out of play on numerous times then Delph coming on as substitute fgs what is our manager up to - I have read on other sites he is being christened the Italian Walter Smith .....

He, and Rhico had to come back into midfield to help out a pedestrian midfield where our playmaker somehow was mostly in the defensive midfield position......????
That win does not paper over the cracks in midfield ATM Tom Davies our best midfielder v Spurs dropped .....
DCL was scoring when our midfield gelled .....we have spent loads ......its like watching paint dry ......
Needs to get back to roughen up CBs and putting it about. He's goes through a malaise every now and then which is all his own doing.
When he's combative and robust he causes problems for any defenders even when he's not scoring.

He doesn't close down as effectively anymore. I know we drilled that out of him to get him in the box more, but at the moment he's just sort of drifting around feeding off whatever scraps the rest toss him.
