Still think to truly get europe we need someone more clinical from open play (his actual decent run then shooting straight at the keeper is signature DCL).

But overall im happy with him as a squad player 100% always have been.

At least his shot was on target. Im guessing you are a big fan of richarlison who put an open goal wide after a good run at the keeper.

Played well there, putting himself about and running hard until the end. I liked his movement before the cut-back to Rodriguez, too.

The time where he failed to take a through ball from Gomes in stride was a good example of where another option is needed, but he's still a handful.

Richarlison was our worst forward today (although he worked his absolute socks off tracking back).

Look im not wishy washy who jumps from one opinion to another like some - ive said numerous times on this thread I haven't a problem with DCL as a squad player as he's improved these last 12 months - but my aims are to see Everton play in the Champions League & Win Cups - is he good enough for that or is he good enough for us finishing 7th- 8th and a pat on the back from the media?

For me he could be our answer to Giroud in a very effective player off the bench and someone who can mix it up when we need to go more direct - but not one who is gonna beat two men from a James dink and calmly slot it past the keeper.

Thats not his game and over the course of the season you cant be one dimensional and need different types of players to solve different oppositions tactics.

Im made up with the win and the lad scored a fantastic header - what more do you want me to say?
