Don't care what anyone says that is a hard chance.

the keeper is already on the floor before he tries to strike the ball, he should have lifted it, could have gone round him? But he just side foots it with no pace along the ground
Klich has all day to do whatever he wanted with the ball. Put it in any corner, take it round the keeper. The only option DCL had was a dink over the keeper which isn’t even guaranteed. They are not similar chances
the keeper was already fully committed and going to ground before dom even went to strike the ball

1.5 million v 150 million that's the difference of them both, but DCL has time on his hands - I find it odd that the lad scored 20 plus goals & yet you pick on him as do other posters -

I had this on the terraces as a youth when Joe Royle my hero was getting stick for replacing the GV ...... Joe was to become a great CF , but in a very good team, in fact the best footballing side in Blue I have ever witnessed .......

DCL is not the finished article by any means, but he has the makings of becoming a great no 9.....

He started out on the wing do not forget...
I feel he will become a very good no 9 for us - if we can keep him......

its actually 1.5m vs free ( not 150m) you can’t use a purchase price and then compare it to a price that has never been paid for Kane. And if dom was sold today I think he would probably fetch more than 1.5m wouldn’t he?

Desperately needs to improve his 1:1 record against goalkeepers. Not sure he has it in him to become a clinical finisher, you just don't trust him to slot those simple efforts home. He's more the type who will bundle the ball in or grab a header, mostly. If he can score 20 this season without the 1:1s we can't complain, but no top striker is as poor as he is when through against the keeper. That said, if he was that good he wouldn't be at Everton would he.

I think that is a bit harsh. He scores goals that others wouldn’t.

Different skill set.

Yeah if he was clinical for one on ones city would be telling spurs to k'off and dom be there yesterday. England win a euro.

He's fine to have if we have a genuine option from the bench to throw off with 10-15 minutes to go and try grab a winner.

Frustrating how we've not had a 2nd striker of any real influence for years now.

It's an area of his game he needs to improve, we know it, he knows it.

But this time last year people still said he wasn't cut out to be a PL striker.

Now we're hoping he just refines his game to become a 25 goal per season player.

It is weird. We don’t seem to value the second forward position at all. We have bumbled along without ever getting cover.

It’s why we struggle to bet teams by more than a single goal.

Not really that simple.

We tried just that with Kean, to have two options.

Ultimately though it's very hard to get a 'back up' striker that is actually any good.

In fact, name five teams that have two genuine quality options in the league?

Villa - Ings and Watkins (but Watkins will play on the wing a bit, so kind of like us with Richarlison)
Utd - Cavani and a few others but only Cavani is the real standout option

Other than that, you have Son as back up to Kane at Spurs but he's not a proper striker, he's a wide forward. See the same with Lukaku now at Chelsea, Werner not really cut out to be a 9 in English football.

It's a hard position to fill unless you often play two up top so can fit them in.
