I was fond on the Straq, myself, just because he was an honest (if talentless) trier. Didn't he have a stunning game against, perhaps, City once, and was the principal reason that we won? Think that was the only time I remember him influencing anything, mind.

Yeah might have been a game we won 1-0 or 2-0, Can't remember if he played in it but my mind vaguely remembers something

Thats not what I wrote at all.
Literally word for word

“Under Ancelotti he looked like a top notch centre forward just two levels below the very best.

Effort and dedication like we saw from him in the past, and now with Gordon...could have taken him to be a £100mil value player one level below the best.”

Some of you utter net rats aren’t happy he made you look like the clueless simpletons you are by coming good, long after you’d exposed yourself as a flea brained tramp by saying he wasn’t good enough for Everton.

Let a young confident male destroy your failing libido.
Do one Dom.

So ive NOT said world class.

Thanks for confirming.

Well what else is considered the “very best” you whopper

Ive said TWO levels BELOW the very best.

Thats TWO levels below Kane/Lukaku in the premier league.

read the quote - two levels below the very best - now I'd argue that he's never been just 2 levels below the likes of Kane , Mbappe and Haland , buts that's another story.

I was thinking premier league...bar Kane and Lukaku theres a gulf down 2 levels to DCL and the others imo.

Think in January 2012, he played an (unexpectedly) key role in us beating City 1-0, and got a standing ovation. Somehow I love a rubbish trier having the rare great game, than an average bloke being consistently average. Just a foible of mine, I guess.

Just to clarify what i was saying earlier about DCL and Niasse:

DCL is currently barely better than you or me (I?), in terms of positively influencing our games. I don't know whether he's just no good, can't be bothered trying, or just out of form - I'll leave it to those (99.5% of fans) more knowledgeable than I (me?) to decide.

Niasse was, indeed, a poor player, and should never have been near our club. Nevertheless, he was quick, and a worker, and scored more than zero goals, unlike DCL's current spell. I'm just saying that workrate and an occasional goal is better than DCL's current zero benefit, even should he play himself back into great form just after we've been relegated.

Lukaku? The guy who only scores against Sunderland, Bournemouth and West Ham. Never plays for Chelsea.? The guy is not a reference.

I'd argue that the following may be better than DCL
Kane
Son
Mane
Saleh
Jota
Dias
Sterling
Jesus
Richarlison
Lacazette
Jimenez
Lukaku
Werner
Mateta
Pukki
Wilson
Watkins
Ings
Antonio
Bowen
Dennis
Borja
Bamford
Toney
Mbueno
Ronaldo
Cavani

You forgot Postman Pat and the Tooth Fairy, both of whom (based just on his current form) are better options than DCL.

This thread feels like a complete bleep show at this point.

I get that he's not playing well lately but I'd like to think we'd give him some leeway.

My issue is he doesn't seem to have any burst in his legs. Iwobi tried to play him in behind and he couldn't get out of first gear to really make an effort at it. I'm pretty concerned that the injuries have taken a step away and it might not be coming back. He doesn't strike me as a player who can survive without his physical attributes at their peak.
