Oh the irony, the light at the end of the tunnel.
All hopes pinned on a storming season for DCL in the prayer it keeps us safe and respectably league placed. We utilize Gordon and Gray exclusively to provide the ammo for headers and DCL converts (for argument lets say 20 goals). Plays his way so well into a transfer and next summer we're scrabbling around worse than now to recruit another saviour.
How did it get to this?
We need Patterson to step in world class, Tarkowski to transition perfectly, a couple of midfielders that can actually run for close to 90 minutes and then pray for zero injuries and some even handed officiating.

Luck eventually runs out. Grim this.
Shambles!
Well I’m hoping our bad luck runs out soon

is that a new 'thing' to wear trainers around your neck
it is if you've still got your slingbacks on your feet.

Joking apart (ahem), I love DCL. I love everything about him. He's a great role model for young lads - he's a big strapping, hard-working centre-forward, but he doesn't give a monkey's what anyone thinks. He collects handbags and goes to fashion shows, he doesn't get lapdancers round his house during lockdown. He models for the top brands, he doesn't get drunk on holiday and make a tit of himself. He talks about mental health, not about his Bentley or his Xbox. I don't understand why anyone has a problem with the way he likes to dress, I think he looks fantastic. Makes a change from the usual footballer, who dresses like he's got Primark taste with a Harrods budget.

On top of that, he's a much better footballer than he's given credit for. He works hard, he puts himself about, he has good control in both feet, and he plays with a smile on his face.

Finally, my daughters have no interest in football, but both of them love him and follow him on Insta.

I hope he has a sensational season for us, and doesn't get chased away by the few neanderthal idiots in our fanbase who think you have to wear bad jeans and drink ten pints a day to be a man.

Less talk about fashion tastes, judgemental/uneducated observations on what he should/shouldn't be doing for his own individual mental and more talk of the player in this thread would be refreshing.

What matters is what he does on the pitch, not what he wears of it. Every season is a fresh start so let's wait and observe what happens when the season starts rather than being hung up on an injury plagued season gone.

A fit and firing DCL will be a huge plus for us and only time will tell if that will happen not the mystic megs of doom and gloom in here that can foresee him falling apart.

This. Social media so often reminds me of the snidey conversations I heard breaking up gaggles of 12yr old girls smoking behind the toilet block on playground duty. Some people just don't grow up to talk about events and ideas and just stick to chatting about people.
