To add, I’ve had a problematic groin through most of my football life. They can heal quickly (1-2weeks) but can reoccur out if no where, then nothing for months even years.
Dcl will obvs have the best physio to help

We never tried - lets be honest had we put him in the shop window at the start of summer someone would have taken a punt on the lad.

Now we have no chance of moving him on.

I agree I would have been open to offers for him at the start of the summer as a move could have been good for both parties but that boat has definitely sailed now.

This is a discussion forum, where we are discussing someone in the public eye.

I don't think we're responsible for his mental health. I do think we have an obligation to refrain from abuse, but I don't think our obligation goes any further than that. I certainly do not think our obligation extends to denying reality to protect his mental state.

If the past history of players with a similar injury profile suggests it's very unlikely that he will be able to stay healthy, I think we have the right to have that discussion publicly. If we cannot do that, how can we possibly discuss  anything of substance?

Facts are what they are. If the odds can be beaten, it's on him to find a way to defy them. He wouldn't be the first athlete, or the last.
