That’s right. Another example of different people having different ideas in what we should do. King was never Ancelotti’s man. A couple of good signings with a proper plan in that January window and we could have maintained a top 4 challenge.

Interesting article in the Echo with Steve Stone about DCL. Just saying the aim isn't just to get him fit, but get him fit fit!

Says he's a few weeks behind the rest of the squad because of the hamstring injury and its important they have a focal point up top and someone who can score goals.

At least its clear with the current coaching staff that they won't be going into the season with any kind of blind faith of being over reliant on DCL. They'll want reinforcements and they'll want them before the season starts.

Maupay it is for the start of the season...thats starting the season with another handicap as clearly we will be off the pace and a few points down by the time dcl is up and running or by the time we get another striker which will probably be close to deadline day.
