Signing a couple of decent back up strikers will help Dominic Calvert-Lewin, as it means he won't be rushed back earlier like he normally is. It will also give him competition which is always good for a players motivation to do better.
This. Hope he breaths a sigh of relief now. Can get himself fully fit without risking anything. Take a bit of pressure of himself to save the entire club and just enjoy life.

With Maupay signed and a possibility of either Brereton-Diaz or another name out of left field coming in, means we can properly ease Dom back in, ideally like we did Seamus by giving him a run out for the U21s, either against Morecambe in the Papa Johns trophy on Tuesday (an hour before the Leeds game) or the Chelsea game next Saturday

When Dom is back, it would be interesting to see him and Maupay up front together. Dom is boss in the air and Maupey is quite the scavenger and would have a fair bit to feed on, that is if we improve on crossing and creativity etc.

with Dom apparently maybe becoming injury prone.

i think it could be him over doing the fitness thing.

those pictures of him after the Crystal Palace match were he looked ripped as f. while maybe being pleasing to the eye when he strips off to do a photo shoot and boosting his self image, its not necessary or advantageous to be over-ripped

when you get really ripped and fine tuned you`re more likely to get injured.

All football players are finely tuned athletes and because of that more suspectible to injury. They're glass cannons but they have to be to compete at the very top.

The "ripped" physique is an affectation - or a genetic disposition. You don't need to be ripped to play football. They're not gymnasts. I don't care what he looks like once his fitness maximises his availability to play. Right now, for whatever reason, he is in danger of becoming an injury-prone footballer with a burgeoning modelling career.

He's more interested in a modelling career.

a lot of being ripped is genetic plus effort.
Ronaldinho and zlatan have had the long careers at the very top of the game while looking like professional body builders.
