2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

I said we should have sold him in the summer. £20mil fee not the £30-35mil it was reported as...even a bit less than that just to get him out the door.

Now we have to sell in Jan to get something, anything for him.

I hope by some miracle we can get £15-20mil but based upon his "I want to score 13 goals to be up with Lukaku" we'll probably be lucky to see a shot on target and his value is dropping every game.
You would need a fkn good salesman to get £15-20 million for a centre forward who doesn't actually score any goals that you could get for nothing in the summer.
And don't even start me on his penchant for wearing women's clothes.

He's always been a solid prem striker...even under Dyche he was getting 10 a season (probably wouldn't have relegated Burnley if he was sold).

But let's have it right, the absolute meltdown by the fanbase if we'd have signed Wood would've been ridiculous.
We should have taken 10-15m to avoid a free transfer.

It was never the right decision to keep him.when his contract was running down. His performances aren't good enough and we all know he is leaving. It's a bad situation for the club and we won't even get a fee.

Don't keep a player who would like to leave. It rarely works. And none of our squad are good enough to keep if they want to go.

I have never been convinced that DCL is a top class striker, I don’t think he is clinical enough. However when he had that purple patch and got himself into the England team he did look as if he had finally arrived. When I look at situations I usually put myself in the position of the people I am thinking about and think what would I do in their place. DCL isn’t prolific, he needs people creating chances for him. When he was scoring he was operating in and around the box. The Everton of Sean Dyche and DCL are a bad fit, a good manager would do something about that, he would change the game to suit his centre forward or he would change the centre forward, persisting with the same thing week in week out isn’t working for anyone. So, putting myself in DCL’s place I would have to realise that if I am to get back to the form that got me an England call up I need a change. Sean Dyche isn’t going to change, either he moves on or I do. I would also be thinking about Borja regaining fitness, when he is ready am I not getting a game in a side that can’t win. I would love to see DCL playing well and scoring, I would like to see someone pushed up close to him to help him, but if he has to go then so be it. On the other hand I might be thinking Sean Dyche is on his way out, TFG are going to shake up the whole club, I might like the thought of being part of that but how many false dawns can one person witness and still remain hopeful.

Again, I don't think he had many options and the option he did have he priced himself out of.
