He's a great athlete , jumps high , not a great header of a ball but ok , he can't strike a ball properly and with Carlo's team he bundled the ball in .
He needs a little guy to feed off him but nobody does that any more , Quinn and Phillips et al , nearest I've see these days is Jota .

Not even joking, he offers nothing a league 2 striker doesn't offer also. 2 goals all year "but he runs a lot!" Yeah so can a league 2 striker and he night occasionally put the ball in the net too.

The thing which annoys me most (apart from his dire finishing) is the amount of times he mis-times his headers from a Pickford hoof up the pitch. It’s getting beyond a joke now the amount of times he does it.

We need a finisher at the club and he’s not it.

When do our forwards get 5 chances, maybe in a month of games ..... DCL should have equalised in the last game, needs resting though - I feel a team will be in for him .....

"Outscored" seems an overly powerful word when you are comparing 1 goal Vs 2 goals.

But the point is that DCL is running channels and being a target man, trying to chase his own flick ons, all outside of the box. So by the time the ball is wide, he's then having to get in to the box to make sure he's there. Half the time he needn't have bothered as we don't have anyone who can cross a ball.

Whereas Harland as an example, doesn't need to do the hold up or flick ons as much, so he can afford to be clever about his movement in and around the box to create space for himself.

As previously stated there is a good chance DCL may not be good enough, but I think it's harsh to judge any striker playing in a dyche system.

We've also seen him under Koeman, Silva and barring his purple patch under Carlo he's been pretty mediocre. I'm sick of us pinning our hopes on this fella, he just doesn't score enough or contribute assists to justify giving him a new contract, I'd sooner we just move on from him myself, I mean there's hardly anyone knocking the door down to sign him, just little rumours about perceived interest, what is it, 50+ goals in 7 years? For me he's just a bang average run of the mill centre forward

I know, however, something Moyes was saying, players have to create more chances. Not sure what a good convertion rate is, reckon most teams whose forwards are scoring are creating more chances for themselves generally, than our players do.

DCL is a waste of space and has been for a couple of years. We’ll do nothing until he’s replaced by a striker who can actually put the ball in the net……
