Leaving all to do in the last week is a dereliction of duty, but we all knew that it will be like that. One thing I am hoping this time is that if no significant improvement of the squad is apparent by the end of this window, that thelwell gets the sack before the end of his contract. It's time that people take responsibility for their work.

If his injury is bad I wouldn’t be surprised if he went to the club to have a look at that contract offer again. I think he was banking on an upturn in his form under Moyes after seeing how the first few games have gone to get himself in the shop window and get himself a little more bargaining power with prospective new clubs
