2017/18 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

It's a bit unfair on him, he will be a very good player but at the moment is probably a top championship player. He really shouldn't be expected to lead the line and be our main source of goals as he is at the moment, ideally he would be out on loan somewhere like Fulham or Leeds playing week in week out with less pressure on him.

Totally agree. Pinning our striking hopes on an absolute rookie, a promising one though, is totally unfair on the boy.

I don't think we can judge him yet. Average team performance since January last season, and this season hasn't started yet. Not fair. He's performing really well at U20 and U21 level, so now it's time to give him some time in a decent team - hold judgement

Not sure he's a top Championship player tbh. Not seen anything from him to suggest that.

Prediction: He will be a good and popular part of a strong and competitive squad once we get rid of Golf Lundgren
Koeman after the game last night: 'this is not a time to criticise the players.'

Barely a minute later he says that Calvert-Lewin has 'no excuses' for being isolated up front.

Couldn't believe it when he followed it up with, 'that's how we play.'

honestly that whole section of his comments made no sense to me

all I can see when he is speaking is the face of another ex-manager that I won't give a crap about once gone. Hopefully my prediction will be realized sooner rather than later

I don't know if it was a bit of a Freudian slip, or if he actually thinks that it's an acceptable mindset.

He definitely has the air of a manager who is losing the plot.

Think he's a good option to have, and will only develop, he's being forced to fill very big shoes. I don't imagine any one, himself included thought he'd be playing the minutes he is.

He's raw he's young.

Whoever followed a 30 goal a season striker had an uphill struggle.

There needs to be a fair realignment of expectation. He played a handful of games last season.

Give him a chance he will prove useful.
