Should go on loan next season. His performance was very effective today when he came on but that miss was unacceptable, I don't care how old he is. He's been brought through as a striker his whole life, hard and low into the far post was the finish needed and somehow he managed to shank it horribly high and wide. He needs to get the feel of how to regularly score goals and the more chances he misses for us the less time he is going to be given.

He's 20 playing his first full season.

The fact he did better than most of the entire £300mill squad says a lot.

Funny how we're all jumping on one lad to put to bed over a decade of winless streaks.

I've come to the conclusion that a majority of people are jealous of the youngsters, the vitriol towards them is astonishing.

I take it you meant No he couldn't. Or are you referring to the next derby?

Anyway. I expected no less than you being one of the haters I was referring to.

I'm not a hater.. this is like Barkley all over again... I like his attitude but he is not good enough in front of goal and his decision making is terrible. People kept comparing Barkley and saying he was better than Gerard, scholes and lampard at the same age, DCL is being compared to Kane , sharp. He's not good enough and never will be imo. I don't hate him I just don't want him playing for us

It's not that, no one is jealous of our own youngsters. I realise that any comments made are a little harsh because of their age but if you look at it from the simple and logical perspective of 'are they good enough for us to push on to the next level' then the answer is an emphatic no. We rely on them too much when they clearly aren't ready. I don't blame the players, I blame the club for not having signed better players last summer and thus putting us in this position.

It's getting to the stage where I'm thinking, let's just get rid of them. All of them. Anybody who isn't good enough now, to control or win a game against any opposition, isn't worth keeping hold of.

And there would be nothing I would enjoy more than to see them go to one of our competitors and become a super star.

They are too young to say either way if they will be good enough. There have been many many many world class players who weren't fantastic at the ages of 19-21, 23 even.( I'm not saying they're going to be world class btw)

The squad has been shocking, the game time these kids are getting will do them the world of good but to write them off already when not one single senior player has had a good season just doesn't make any sense.
