Part of me wants Trump to win the Republican nomination because

(a) He can't possibly win the election, can he?

and

(b) It might force the Republican party into some sort of introspection and meaningful change.

But then again, I never thought he'd get this far in the Republican primaries and it might be playing with fire if he got to the election. Mad times in politics these days.
He'll run on a campaign slogan of 'I'm not Hilary' and that'll be enough to get a lot of the South.
Think Obama will still have a role to play in mobilising his support to back her. Sanders should drop out asap.

i want him to run against hillary for shear entertainment value. trump wont be president in any case but i want to see him wum the world and especially to kick some clinton family behind while at it.

The south would vote for him no matter what. Hillary would destroy him when it comes to the fence voters who matter

Not sure how true that is - for a start, an election with two figures as polarizing as Hilary and Trump (if they are the nominees) is going to end up with there not being that many fence voters to attract. Secondly, its questionable whether they would all flock to her given that there are an awful lot of reasons not to - her record for a start (which is horrible, whether as First Lady, Senator or especially Secretary of State), the Clinton scandals, that emails thing, the utterly establishment nature of her candidacy etc. Trump has a record in the Republican contest of getting rid of all the establishment sort of candidates - Scott Walker, Bush III, poor Rubio - and Clinton is that type of candidate x100.

Bernie would certainly beat him, but I am not sure that Hilary would with as much certainty; even if Trump just stuck to things that are factually accurate (for a change) there is an awful lot of stuff to throw her way.

Do you think then that many voters will find a reason not to vote and abstain on the day?
