I find it absolutely brilliant in practice. Whizzing past a pointless 500 yard queue that's causing completely unnecessary problems further back while being in the right is a great feeling.

Great in theory not in practice

Works in practice as well if people actually do it. Instead you get people refusing to do it and lorry’s driving across the middle of the road to block people.

Sitting in a needless queue that you (not you personally) have helped create doesn’t make you more important/a better driver (like some seem to think it does). Especially when people then get angry about the people who are actually driving correctly.
