Duncan Ferguson got a job

In his day, particular his later seasons as a player was what Coleman was to Everton now, just his presence of mind was inspiring. Seamus no doubt looked upto the "big man". Nice to see Dunc has not lost the Everton way.

To think some people wanted this feller as Everton manager.

Why we can never allow sentimentality to override proper judgement

Management is more then simply being an "inspiring presence"

There was also the element of the client media putting the name forward for clicks. In reality, how many people really wanted Duncan Ferguson as manager?

There's been a tendency @davek for some ex players of Everton (and ex Chairman) to put forward the names of their "mates" in order to curry favour. Can't happen now. EFC needs to be a meritocracy

Ultimately, results are what matters and if a manager isn't getting results then he has no business managing.

Loads on here: "Give it Dunc".

FFS, never heard anything so ridiculous.

I would like to think that it was mostly 'wanting' Ferguson to succeed rather than thinking he would get it and be a good choice.

Maybe I am being naïve, but that was my thought process anyway.
