Ferguson has been here since 94 and made a bond with the fans. You only have to go back to his testimonial to see what he means to people here
Good player but cannot be talked about in the same breath as the proper legends of this club...sorry but he would be well down in the pecking order after the legends of the 70s and 80s teams. He maybe to people 35 and under, I can understand that, but why havent the club turned to him before? Panic stations imo.

Meh can’t say I’m overly happy about this.

It’s obviously only stop gap and obviously better than seeing that dour negative bellwhiff Silva in charge again.

I’ll give him until the team is announced on Saturday morning. Any sign of Calvert Lewin or Sigurdsson and he can do one.

"Everton Football Club can confirm that manager Marco Silva has left the Club.

Majority Shareholder Farhad Moshiri, Chairman Bill Kenwright and the Board of Directors would like to thank Marco for his service over the last 18 months and wish him well for the future.

Duncan Ferguson has taken temporary charge of the first team and will manage the side for the game against Chelsea on Saturday.

The Club aims to confirm a new permanent manager as swiftly as possible."

Thank goodness for that. Imagine having that arsehole as manager for any period of time.

Martinez - Sacked, Ferguson survives
Koeman - Sacked, Ferguson survives
Allardyce - Sacked, Ferguson survives, says he felt sick that the fans were booing the team during that period
Silva - Sacked, Ferguson survives

Why lads? Not like our striking has been great under his tutelage either
I assume Duncan's incredible ability to survive several failed regimes is a direct consequence of sentimental old Bill essentially protecting him. Kind of like when he arranged for that ex convict to take a place on the U23's for a year to help get him back on his feet. If Bill wasn't at the club, Duncan would have gone when he was part of the first failed regime.

Can he register as player Manager and strike fear into the hearts of Chelsea defenders.

doesn’t actually play, just gives them a sleepless Friday night

Who wil be supporting Dunc in the game - is Silva's staff gone - he may need a translator for the presser.... Any of the Krankies free? OR We could draft in Sammy Lee to fake an accent and fill both roles?

Wouldn't happen at any other club
