As an American, I don't bother to learn other languages. If someone in their own country doesn't understand me while I'm visiting there, I just repeat what I said in "american" at a much much louder volume and a bit slower. "WHERE IS-O THE BATHROOM-O?"

Babbelfish is good.

I used Memorise for a bit but Babbelfish is better for the grammar.

Anybody use Duo Lingo for learning languages? Just cracked 241 days doing French and German. French is level 18 but German waaay behind.

Very jealous of Blues from other countries where being multi linguistic is the norm, think we’re lazy in English speaking countries!

Hard to learn any new skills the older we get but genuinely reckon it’s been great for my mental health and would recommend.
