Only had 1 player here with constant assist stats for the past few years and that was Digne.

Not disagreeing buts its still a valid point being made. There’s only one player in the entire squad with a decent goal scoring record, just getting someone who can sling crosses in isn’t going to address that.

However it is structured, Dwight McNeil, while he is a decent player, is not the best we could do for he money. We need a defensive midfielder, a midfielder who can take the ball fromm the back four, protect it and pass forward and a quick forward with an eye for a goal. In an ideal world, if we cold afford to get those players in, I would welcome McNeil as things stand, we really have more pressing needs.

Chances per 90mins is much more relevant, and you have to consider the quality of the chances.

An awkward corner ending up with an awkward header nowhere near the goal is consider a chance, a through ball resulting in a clear cut chance is also counted as one. The stats are too generic.

I can’t help but smile when fans of Everton have labelled this fella as slow or having no pace when presumably they have closed their eyes whenever Gomes, Allan or Tom Davies are playing and assume they have been the footballing reincarnation of peak Linford Christie. McNeil isnt slow at all, those 3 above are though!
