That seems wild. Is that likely to be an outlier? I can't imagine many Premier League players would go 50+ shots and zero goals without being incredibly unlucky - especially looking at his finish this weekend.

Depends on where you're shooting from. He had 2 big chances he missed and then 50 low percentage shots. It isn't to crazy to go 0 for in that situation.

Our aim has to be to get him closer to the goal and/or more centrally and still have him shooting 50+ times. It sounds obvious, but he strikes it very well, and I'm increasingly convinced outside of an elite few, it's basically a numbers game.

I think Lampard will be aware of this and will be working on it.
McNeil needs get in those positions to shoot more often.
Anthony Gordon needs to shoot less.

If you look at the role he was given on Sat, it was a roving free role for large parts of the game, he was popping up everywhere, i wonder is your suggestion being actively worked on.

Still far from convinced personally, see a glimmer of ceiling, but not a huge one, hope im wrong.

McNeil is really capable on hitting a really mean shot. His corner deliveries were way better than Gray. I think if you give him that responsibility, we may score some corners.

I do hope he improves and contributes more in goals, assist and chance creation. He just need to regain his confidence and start taking a bit more risk when creating chances.

He looks like a seasoned player but he is actually only 22 and Everton is his first big club. Give him some time to work on his game - he hadn't have the best start but I do hope he can build on his Southampton performance.

He has to be on corners and set plays. It's really weird that he isn't.

Dont think he'll ever be a top player but hopefully he proves to be an Osman type solid squad member.

I agree on point 1 mate. On point 2, while its ore true for McNeil than Gordon, I'm honestly in favour of our players getting shots away as often as possible.

Think his position is alongside Maupay too slow for a winger - he has a great shot in his locker.....

He has vision though, put no penetration - thats a difficulty for a forward or an inside forward.

On Saturday, he was definitely trying to hard, that was impacting his decision making and he was trying to do things hes not capable off. Im hoping part of the issue with him is coachable and he will find a role once he settles and hes less nervous - because that seems the case.

Still not a signing i would make and i think hes struggling to fit into the team in terms of what he offers - even reading this thread people seem to be trying to find a role for him and squeeze him in somewhere out of good will because they want it to be work out.
