2024/25 Dwight McNeil

We’ve missed his output. He managed to get goals and assists in a Dyche team, I can only imagine how he will improve with moyes
He didn’t get that many goals or assists over the 2 and a half seasons, did ok at times, but was also horrific at times
If we want to be a successful club, then you have to be ruthless, him and James garner will both have low book values now. 3 to 4mil id say, so we could make some decent money on both and bring in better players

'3 to 4 million' hahaha

Honest to christ - some of our fans don't have a clue.
If Mcneil is 3-4 mill Id love to know what Harrison is worth

He's over hated by some of our fans. He’s spent a lot of time playing through the middle this season, which I don’t think suits him at all. Dyche ran him into the ground too - there have been games where it’s glaringly obvious he’s not fully fit.

I said book value, obviously the guy who found it funny doesn’t have a clue what that means
we paid about 12 with add ons to 17/18. Give or take
So 3 years into a 5 year deal, means on our accounts this summer. He’s probably a 5mil asset, so slightly more than 3/4. But Garner who was a bit cheaper 11mil? On a 4yr deal, means his value is less.
So the point I was making we could make a decent profit on both.

I’d be happy to keep him for another year. We need a backup for Ndiaye on the left, and he’s more than capable . I don’t think he’s on the level of Harrison or Lindstrom where he’s firmly in the ‘get rid’ category. He’s our third-highest scorer and joint-top assister this season -which isn’t saying much- but in a different setup, I think he could push on.

Dyche absolutely ran him into the ground at times, mainly because of how thin the squad was. Selling Garner or McNeil right now would just create more problems - unless TFG plans to go full Nottingham Forest and bring in 20 players in one window, I don’t see either of them leaving.

We paid 5 up front, rising to 20 for mcneil

Always felt the odd worldie from mcneil stood him up in the media's eyes, as some sort of magician.
What they didnt watch was all the negatives we saw for 80 minutes in a game. Lack of pace, running into problems, turn circle of a tug boat, refusing to use his right foot for even a simple 6 yard pass.
However...Dyche refused to allow overlapping full backs which often left mcneil isolated and easy to manage by defenders. Perhaps moyes will get more of a tune from him.

Would be silly to get rid of him or Garner at this point. We will already be thin in both areas of the pitch and we don't need to make recruitment even harder for ourselves this summer. They deserve at least another year of assessment under Moyes and with better players around them and then a judgement can be made. McNeil has his limitations but he also has his strengths. He's not completely useless.

To be honest I mentioned these 2 a few days ago, as response to someone saying , sell Harrison Armstrong. As this payment we apparently need to make before June 30th and I said if sell McNeil and garner before Armstrong.
I don’t see them 2 being anywhere near the starting 11 for a team the wants push into the top half and challenge for Europe, just my opinion. Also Garner only has 1 year left this summer
