Dyche is the man

Some people are too quick to judge.

FWIW I don’t care what people wear, who they are attracted to or how they lead their life. I fully support anyone choosing to do whatever they want. So long as they stay within the law of course.

Rightly or wrongly perceptions are drawn based on how people look and behave… I don’t think that will ever change.
It would be interesting to know what, if any, physiological edge footballers/sports people in general gain/lose from such perceptions.

Off the field distractions can certainly play a part in performance too. Sometimes I wish that players would just focus on their sport… what they are handsomely paid to do. They have plenty of time to pursue other interests when they retire or ditch football/sport for those other interests, if they are more important.

I have my own thoughts. Maybe I am a dinosaur but I’m certainly not what you allege.

Has Sean signed yet or are we waiting till next week?

@bullybeef - I appreciate your thoughtful and reasonable response and I am glad you did not resort to the back and forth we often see on this forum. I am also glad that you are not homophobic as I suggested. I understand your point about perceptions and would also note that people could percieve your orriginal comments as homophobic.
There is a lot of fear, dissapointment and anger in social media and that includes GOT.
Thanks for understanding my comments.

Really can’t believe the negativity I read surrounding this possible appointment. He’s exactly what you need.

Dyche played a style of football based on the resources he had on and off the field. And at times, particularly in the championship it was far better on the eye than he gets credit for. If he had the tools he would evolve his style of play.

He was instrumental in us getting two promotions with good football with the likes of Ings and Trippier. And when he had the money signed good footballers in cornet, defour, barton.

The likes of Keane, Tarkowski and even McNeil were a million miles away from what you’ve seen at Everton.

He would be the perfect short and long term man for the job.

Just not convinced the Everton fan base realise the gravity of the situation they’re in.

He’s managed two seasons in the championship. The first season we were promoted behind a Leicester side that had the likes of vardy two years before they won the premier league. The second we dominated the league and went 23 games undefeated from Christmas to the end of the season.

He broke countless records. Including ending a 35 year wait for a win in the local derby. And we never lost against them since.

He kept us up against the odds. Had three top ten finishes.

You will be lucky to get such a brilliant manager in. I’m actually surprised it’s taken a club in this situation before he’s been seriously linked.

You had a fashionable manager in Lampard. (And plenty of other names in Ancelotti, Koeman, Silva) and where did that get Everton?

Dyche is a fantastic choice.
I don’t feel lucky, i feel like the dinosaurs did as they saw a massive fireball streak through the sky prior to their Armageddon

I just can't get up beat on this one at all sorry boys/girls. I like the fella is just feels just so... Everton. We are now in the recycle bin looking for spare parts to try and get a broken thing to work again. just wrong aint it

He's the right choice from the options available.

But, the owner/board have set him up to fail. It's what they do. They've killed him with the timing.

Left the decision too late.

Did our thing and made a managerial change become like the X Factor.
I don't think he is being brought in to keep us up. He is being brought in to bring us back up next season.

Any Burnley fans on here want to swap Dyche/Kompany?

Thought so
Kompany is doing a great job for us. But let’s not pretend that he could play his style of play with the current Everton players.

We’ve moved on. And it’s best for all. But I’m the position you’re in now even if it was realistic you could poach kompany, Dyche could be a better choice for the here and now

I don't like this perception that dyche is a young Sam allardyce when he did a really good job with Burnley but didn't get any backing from their board. For a solid two years they punched well above their weight and when the lack of investment bit, he was blamed and had to take the fall.

Happy with this appointment, let's start working hard again

if dyche can get these players to play with some passion then he will be a great appointment

hopefully he rules the roost and sorts this lot out

frank looked like a cuck who sat in the corner crying quietly whilst gordon yelled at him for not starting him

he'll keep us up. any half decent manager would, and he's certainly that.

dyche will make us hard to beat, but it won't be pretty on the eye.

while i'm behind him for now, i'm not enthused by the prospect of 3 or 4 years of his brand of football and mid-table finishes.

we really should be aiming higher than just a safe pair of hands.
