they did play well to be fair, RS that is, but for me that makes it even better? they give their best performance and still ended up getting bummed 3-0

this time a week or two ago, massive favs for the league and just bummed porto, now fast forward 2 weeks they're basically out of Europe and massive underdogs for the league, they do this every time, get themselves all excited and end up with NOTHING

Calling foul on this "they were the better team" balderdash.

They had a 30 minute spell across the end of the first half and start of the second half where they made the game scrappy and Barcelona couldn't get anything going. That will happen when you're playing three centre backs and four centre midfielders.

They were also getting some joy with Salah's pace against Jordi Alba. That's it. They didn't look like scoring more than twice. Milner hitting it right at Ter Stegen and Salah hitting the post when it was already 3-0.

Barcelona were the much better team and should have won 4-0 at least given the chances they wasted.

BTW: Robertson - I've seen enough of him to confirm he's not top class. He's hustle and bustle and not much more. Digne is a superior player by some distance, imo.
