ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

I've just had a kopite work colleague on the phone for about 15 minutes, talking a bit about work, but mostly his chances of getting a ticket in the ballot, flight prices to Madrid etc. Not once did he mention the Spurs game last night, so at the end of the call I said to him 'you'd rather have got Ajax wouldn't you'? He just said 'yes'. He sounded rather gutted. He knows they've got a tough game.

Anyone looked at the state of most of the mega rich "elite" clubs?

I roughly worked out that there will be about 20 mega money transfers required this summer.... talking a billion quid getting spent. Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG, United, need about 15 players between them..... so many players at these clubs not good enough....

Liverpool will be getting tested ... Trent Alexander Arnold, VVD, Mane and Salah will get targeted. The manager.... Mr Klopp may get handed a name your price move to Barcelona. He will rightly be the prize asset manager out there after Pep........ let's see what happens.

@davek any room in that bunker lad
There is no need for a bunker mate.

Spurs have been a better team than Liverpool for half a decade up until this freak season...as season when Spurs have been decimated by injuries and were half in and half out of a stadium and eventualy left one for another.

They went to Anfield a few weeks back and could and should have won.

Liverpool will start favourites because of the points they racked up in the table. So what? They dont count in Madrid. Spurs have the quality to do it. Anyone calling this anything other than a toss up between two closely matched teams are clueless.

Why would any big club want 'overrated fraud' Van Dijk, 'kick & rush' Mané, 'one trick pony' Salah or 'serial bottler' Klopp, though?

Because there's a dearth of top top guaranteed quality so put one those into a team and they might shine and look the business in Spain or Italy?

Because clubs buy what they think works... it's why we got £90m for lukaku. Its why the RS bought half of Southampton team. It's hit and miss.

The end of the day Liverpool aren't a club comparable to Real Madrid or Barca or United. ...... they play in a second hand stadium that looks like a 2 up 2 down with an extension.

Look at Emirates, Spurs new stadium, Old Trafford, St James Park, PSG parc de princes. Players like having those sorts of venues as their home. Liverpool could and should have used the opportunity to get their own new stadium for the first time in their existance....

Yeah great atmosphere the other night.... cos they knew they were playing a true elite club.

If the big boys come calling VVD, Salah and Mane will be off. It's the way it works.

We just need to make sure we get our rebuild and new stadium right.

Beat me to it, could you imagine thinking you have an elite manager only to see caulker playing up front for supposed big club.

I'm looking forward to the CL final. We have a Cinderella story in Tottenham. Homeless for most of the season and not able to get in reinforcements for this season as they balanced the books, and overlooked by all against the pantomine villains of the financially doped Liverpool. It's all I'll be able to do to not shout, "he's behind you!" whenever Herr Flopp transgresses from his technical area. lollollol

And at full time, Mo turns into a pumpkin! lol

It's destined to be Spurs' season.

Imagine you're an Arsenal fan right now and you watched that unfold in horror last night. They KNOW Spurs will end up with the trophy. They know it's an English derby and that Spurs have the quality to walk off that pitch in Madrid as winners.

Get Sunday out of the way with that PL trophy festooned in sky blue and white ribbons and safely in Vincent Kompany's hands, and then look forward to Liverpool struggling to deal with the weight of expectation on them and the pressure to salvage a trophy from a trophyless "best season ever".

Imagine Arsenal win the EL and Spurs the CL.

Next season’s Super Cup will be the ultimate NLD.

you seen the state of woodison?

The more I watch Liverpool, the more I think that they're a bully who just needs to be stood up to. They obviously have three excellent players in attack, and I think there's a lot to be said for the fact that they don't play high-risk passes 10 yards in front of their own box, but what really sets them apart is their pace and aggression. The Barcelona players were mentally broken by Liverpool's physicality last night, and looked genuinely frightened of snarling gimps like Milner, Henderson and Robertson. It was bizarre to watch.

Unfortunately, like you, I don't think that Tottenham are the ones to do it.

Yes true to all of that. Ajax on the other hand have won handsomely at Real Madrid and Juventus and Tottenhams ground. I don't think they are easily intimidated. They showed inexperienced last night.
