ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

A couple of weeks for Liverpool to wallow in their loss whilst the media and their own fans pour on the pressure to counterbalance City's potential treble or Watford's first ever grand prize? Those weary bodies and players will have their minds wandering now, wondering what they need to do to win a league there, whilst Spurs just have to work to get fit and on the pitch.

Let's see how this one plays out. I just feel that Spurs with their new ground, lack of on field reinforcements since last season, have a sudden belief about their destiny and that they could be at the start of something, yet that is tempered by the knowledge that they will have to work hard to obtain it - a lethal combination.

Who will be this year's Sergio Ramos?

Said it before and I'll say it again. They will win NOTHING with calamitous Klipperty Klopp in charge.
Ran it close in the league and got to the ridiculously named 'Champions' league final ? They did that last year too.
They are not progressing, they are stagnating.
I'm calling it early - they will finish outside the top 4 next season. Klopp may well be out of there before the season ends.

Yeah, I’m here, not getting all the RS stuff coming my way like, just because I questioned an old head on here. The fact that no one bats an eyelid over his admission about hating them more than loving us, tells me a lot about what is wrong with our fan base. Suppose that’s for another day. Let’s just enjoy laughing at them. Anyways, good day, went a bit scary for a minute or 2 but the boys come good.
I'll explain It. We are frequently hard to love, whereas, the rs are always easy to hate. Simple.

Here's a flavour of what Irish toffees have to contend with. It's a promo from the sports section of the national broadcaster promoting local/national sports with the tag line "your town, your team, your tribe". There is no mention of any league of Ireland club but can you guess which cult, I mean club, gets a mention?

That is an absolute disgrace from them but I'm not in any way surprised. I'll admit I'm more biased because I'm a LOI diehard, but your town your team promo and the soccer club they go with is the RS? [Poor language removed] Dundalk; Cork City and Shamrock Rovers, let's roll out that great Irish club Liverpool. Seriously now with a national broadcaster like that what chance do we have?

They used the Women's US national team instead of the Irish Women's team as well. Shambles. I'd kind of understand if their was a current Ireland international in the RS side as well as a LOI side(s)

Proud moment for Liverpool fans to wake up to this morning:

"Pushed Man City All the Way" Champions 2018/19

and

"Made Man City Better" Champions 2018/19.

and

"Winter Champions" 2018/19.

The real domestic treble before any other club achieved it.

Dave.....one thing I don’t understand.

Even Pep “thanked” them for pushing his team and “making them better”.

But the simple fact is that City actually accumulated more points, 100, last season when they had no one pushing them.

So no sir....I am not having them named the “Made Man City Better” Champions 2019.

:)

Am I the only one worried that var may work for them?
We've seen all season how referees have gave them blatantly obvious decisions (looking at you Salah and fabinho)
We've also seen crap like sky's ref watch, and the braindead morons Murphy and spit the dog justifying their dives because there was minimal Contact, (apparently contact is only cheating if it's not a Liverpool player)
The video footage is still at the discretion of a referee after all and we've seen the bias towards them,
Generally worried it may turn into a get out of jail free card for them

...they’ll still get plenty of penalties because they’re not overturned unless there is a glaring error, but they won’t get offside goals. More teams will, however, get penalties against them.

It’s the offsides that will work against them because they are black and white. West Ham away this season when they scored a ridiculously offside goal and nearly got another with Origi in the last minute. Also, I think there were a few opposition goals wrongly ruled out at Anfield. Remember Klopp saying “....but Robbo was only playing him on by a small margin”.

What has always stuck in my mind is a game at Anfield a few years ago when Gerrard was unavailable so was part of the match panel. Arshavin scored a goal in front of the Kop that the Sky graphics showed was marginally onside. The conversation went something like this;

Gerrard: “that goal should never have been allowed”

Commentator; “but Steve, our graphics show it was onside”.

Gerrard: “no, that’s an offside here”.

Gerrard was perfectly serious to the point of being disgusted. It’s always stuck in mind as reflecting a genuine concern about the authenticity of the game.
