That lot talk a good talk about "Against Modern Football" but keep their 'kin traps shut while their own club tries to commodify a city name that's been around since 1190.

Having thought about it, I am all for this move.
If they “trade mark” the word “Liverpool” then their merchandise will only be sold through official RS sources.....establishments ol’ Khal will never set foot in.
And I won’t have to look at cult iconography and flags in stalls every time I walk along Paradise Street or Church Street and I will be one happy camper.

They stand naked in front of the world over this as the coroporate vampires they are - a move that has very nicely undermined all the BS their fans come out with about Liverpool.
They were formed by religious bigots (who went on to be racist bigots in the British Union of Fascists)
They operated a discriminatory policy on club signings right up until the 1980s
They were responsible for the biggest manslaughter in European football history
Now they add to the list of shame the attempt to rip a city's name and use it exclusively to get extra profits
They are an appalling bunch of criminals.

Only they could be trying to trademark the name of a city, while scores of their fanbase line up, one after another to call the city a dump. Maybe they need to spend a bit more time educating their supporters on why the city and it's inhabitants are not scumbags and a bit less time trying to ruthlessly exploit it's potential.

They have a parasitic relationship with the City of Liverpool.
But it's helped along by their manager and playing staff talking lazily about one of their victories / hoped for victories being great "for the city".
They dont do that unthinkingly. It's used to add respectability to a power grab of a whole city and region in order to commodify it.

It looks better every time I see it. And I dont know why. Its not got an obvious feature like an arch or a bolt on hole punch. Its not even "massive".
But it just is, I dont know what word even. "Right?"
