Typical cult. Choosing to support a club that you know nothing about makes it all a bit pointless really. I mean, you may as well just support good football.

The idea they somehow have different values and ideals than other clubs is just a complete myth. I bet there were plenty of their fans who wanted to sing the anthem today but couldn't risk losing their super fan status.

Like when we won in 1995 over Blackburn you mean and didn't even fill our allocation because it's a friendly and no one really cares about it?

Didn’t fill our allocation? I think it came up with an attendance of about 40k......no way was there that many there watching the game from the stands. I was there, it was a Sunday 4pm kick off and meant nothing.....we wore that weird white and black Danka away kit....all I remember was a day on the ale on the Saturday night around Wembley and us talking about theCup win. I can’t ever remember anyone in the 25 years or so after ever asking me about Vinny Samways lob or shinned effort that looped over Flowers to give the win on the day. It wasn’t anything like the Cup Final, it was nothing, as comfy a win over the League Champions you would ever see...if that’s how you see things like this. I remember you could even pay on the gate for the Charity Shield game.....I’ll be honest, if we are ever fortunate enough to appear in the seasons curtain raiser at Wembley on a Sunday, I’ll be honest, I won’t be going.

Football is different now. There is an edge on games like these for whatever reason. If we got to a Charity Shield game again, we would take a lot more fans than we did in 1995.

Great to hear Tyler pushing the seven trophy narrative today. Luckily the fella alongside shot him down with his 'I think they'll be happy with one,' retort.
Bloody right we would be. Depends which one as to how happy.

Priority for me this year...

1. League (though unlikely, remains number one)
2. Champions league
3. World club cup (never won it)
4. FA Cup
5. Either of the others

6. To stop wearing my full kit around the City.
7. Spend more time talking to my imaginary friends at half time in the pub rather than spending time on here.
8. Learn the national anthem.
Fixed it for you.
