ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

I still remember all their rhetoric around ‘Klopp needs time’ when he first arrived and finished 8th in the prem. ‘these draws will turn to wins etc.’. Any criticisms they have of Silva after 4 games is pure hypocrisy. Their manager hasn’t won a bean in 3 seasons. Only one of them should be under pressure and it’s not Silva.
Silva's also having to deal with a team full of injuries and suspensions. Klopp isn't.

Don't worry about lads...
In my opinion, Liverpool FC and it's gang of kopite beauts have collectively accumulated enough negative karma for a lifetime.

Karma will inevitably catch up to them, and if we're really lucky, it'll be even more monumental than Stevie Me's 'This does not slip now!', proceeded by him slipping on his arse (seriously... That is not a coincidence. That's karma  baby), and the outstanding display of goalkeeper brilliance that we were all subjected to in the CL finals.

Don't stress... The universe knows what it's doing.;)

Don’t even need Karma. The reason they haven’t won the league in nearly 30 years is because you can’t fluke a 38 game season. The best team will win it and I don’t think they’re the best team in this league.

Thats it. They look a more rounded team to me, but I think that goalkeeper will slowly erode confidence. He has looked no better than Karius so far. For me it's the first big poor signing by Klopp.

At the other end it's clear to me Salah won't be the same player. Last season he played nearly twice as much minutes as any other without breaking down. He is a hamstring injury waiting to happen for me and thats why Klopp has already started resting him. This trend will continue or Salah will break down. I think he gets 15 league goals this season.

Mane seems to be the one with the onus to make up the goals. I actually think he can partially do this. However he won't make up all of Salah's goals. He scores in gluts. He may get 18 or so. So there's a lot of lost points there.

They always had 3-4 easy fixtures to start. West Ham are the poorest team in the league. Palace are not far behind them (and they were fortunate to win there). And they narrowly beat probably the weakest side away from home in Brighton narrowly. All of those were before Alisson threw a clanger and the erosion of confidence that brings kicks in.

As I said from the start, they will start quickly and run out of steam. I am not surprised they won 4 winnable games. I am underwhelmed in how they have done it. I am also underwhelmed by Keita who surprise surprise is not the 2nd coming of Jesus like we have been promised. What a shock that has been.

There is an outside chance the meltdown comes earlier and lasts longer with a challenging september. If they can get through that month top of the league then I will take a bit of notice. However until they play well against some semi-decent teams forgive me for being not bothered.

The fitness issue will kick in too. It will for all teams having had a world cup season, but will disproportionately impact high intensity teams. Spurs are Liverpool are most susceptible but Spurs tend to start slowly and kick on, while Liverpool start quickly and dip mid season.

I try to avoid any of their games and honestly haven't seen a single minute of them this season.

On the face of it, Saturdays win is somewhat concerning as it is the sort of place they'll need to go and pick up three points at to be in with a shout come May.

They appear to have a real tough few games coming up, heres hoping the UCL draw will take it out of them and Kloops intensive training will also begin to tire them out eventually. It was after Christmas this year that fatigue kicked in for them in the league.

I detest them getting in the top four even, but they'll be close enough in the league, just hope City's superior quality and depth will tell sooner or later.

When at Dortmund did the fatigue and injuries start to kick in? I'm sure I read on here that it was Klopp's second season when the burn out started, and that's even with the benefit of winter breaks and less intense league.

Salah nominated for the Puskas award for his goal against us at the Pit. Surely better goals have been scored than that.

If they include it in the poll though then they get the lemmings all mindlessly clicking on their poll site. It’s the same reason they have Salah in the running for some of the awards. He didn’t win anything last season and had a poor World Cup. They know if they splash his face over the marketing though that Kopites will tune in in their droves to watch it. They are the most milkable fan base in world football. The perfect combination of not having anything else in their lives, offended by everything, and a desire to seek a better fan due to not having any link to the city whatsoever. It all equals clicks on websites, merchandise brought, media content read or watched that no other fan base would bother even engaging with.

Irony at its best.

What season did he win those consecutive titles at Dortmund?
