If the DoF had done his job and provided Silva with a decent striker in the summer I'd realistically be predicting a win at Anfield next week. As it is, we are reliant on Sigurdsson coming up with a big moment or a set piece goal.

I'm not blaming the fans like, but we never (recently) believe we can go their and get a result. Look at the comments in this thread.

The director of football ‘ provided ‘ the manager with a number of quality players . Between the pair of them the recruitment has been top quality , it’s the first step of their particular journey after the mess of the last couple of seasons . Credit where it’s due ,these things just don’t happen overnight.

The credit I'd give Brands is that he's brought in two quality players who are obviously class: Digne and Gomes. The rest are perfunctory signings who are decent to good.

Again though I stress that his job is two-fold: sell/buy. The selling part was poor in the summer. Just moving players out on loan that you want shut of is not a successful conclusion to business.
 

Right people, I'm off to the PSG v RS game on Wednesday. Ill be close to where the away section is. I'll be giving it all I've got in scouse-french. I'm tempted to wear an Everton top and unfurl a "Kopites are gobsh1tes" banner. Of course it might end up with ejection and a swift beating from the riot police.

What would you guys be tempted to do?
 
People go on like they always hammer us. Our derby record is a disgrace but last season both league games finished draws. We are better all over the pitch than last season whereas they are at the back but not up top, they also play PSG away wednesday night and will be fielding a full strength side.

No reason why we cant get atleast a point sunday.
