West Ham's kick-off switch bid rejected

Some interesting news came out of West Ham this morning.
The Hammers have reached the Women's FA Cup final for the first time in their history and play Manchester City at Wembley on 4 May.
That happens to be the same day as West Ham play their final home Premier League game of the season against Southampton.
However, as the game at the London Stadium kicks off at 15:00 BST, and the women's showpiece at 17:30 - and it would take a minimum of an hour to get from one stadium to the other - the chances of watching both are slim.
West Ham asked the Premier League if they could change the kick-off time against Southampton to 12:30, believing it was in the best interests of their club and the women's game.
The request has been refused.
"Despite the club’s very best efforts, it was decided that it wouldn’t be possible due to the potential inconvenience caused to supporters who had already planned their journeys and purchased tickets.”
....ermmm, i haven't paid much attention, but haven't they just switched spurs and the RS' games before the CL semis, in games which are scheduled the same weekend. So that last sentence as an excuse is very contradictory to below
