ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Brixton vs Anfield. Both handled in exactly the same way.

I don't know what happened in Brixton? I am going to take a guess and say it's to do with BLM, as I'm seeing lots of (almost entirely) white Kopites going on about those protests. Can they not understand, protesting racial injustice and the murder of hundreds of unarmed black people has a slightly different scale of importance to celebrating winning a game?

I mean the police tore into the protestors for BLM with horses, was there a single horse yesterday? Or are Liverpool fans now given more right to break than black people highlighting racial injustice?

Was it not a massive Street Party which police did/didn't break up? Nothing to do with BLM?

Mate, it would have happened somewhere else - look at town near St. Luke's. The response has to be measured to the threat and the resources available.

While I suspect we'd all have liked a much firmer response, if we're to be realistic it wasn't going to materialise for a multitude of reasons - political and logistical.

They've had their moment and from now on the response will be firmer.

The onus is now on them (the RS) to behave and consider their responsibility for the wider population.

They were told this yesterday, and it was completely ignored. If you want to save lives, dock 10 points. If it happens at another fixture, dock 10 points again. Keep repeating. It will soon stop. Exactly the same if clubs at the bottom do it.

You know what, I actually feel sorry for the fans that attend matches week to week or follow them, they get their moment of glory and then suddenly loads of people have just remembered they support the club.

‘Yes we R de Champions! Robbie Fowler has bin on fire!’

Thats basically it. I remember actually this is why I ended up hating the England national team. I just used to hate the spectacle of people who didnt care about football, or pay much attention pretending to really like it and just on the bandwagon. By the time I was mid teens I just couldn't bare watching or supporting them. I do wonder, if the actual supporters of the reds get the same feeling.

Fella in a red mankini climbing up a ladder to the top of a lampost with a flag before falling off. People reckon he's died cos of it so the video got deleted
I'm going to make sure he didn't die, before having a laugh at that one!

edit: man in 60s recovering says the headline - bloody hell, what a plank, a 60 year old in a mankini. Sheesh.

It wasn't a BLM protest it was a street party. Old bill turned up and 22 of them got injured & a police car trashed. But is a street party in Brixton any worse than RS celebrations at Anfield?
