ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Probably been mentioned but it’s pretty ridiculous the club has told fans not to attend, despite spending a fortune on lights, fireworks and music, which aren’t just for the players inside, but so people can see and hear from outside.

Wish someone in the media would call them out for it.

The line peddled was that by having a spectacular (sic) trophy presentation, it would be something for the TV audience to watch, the logic being that folk couldnt see it at the ground so wouldnt go to it.

Its flimsy.

Klopp winding the hype up even more by talking about it being the most special moment of their lives. We need Goodison protected tonight. Seriously. I wouldn't put it past them to wreck it. And you are right. Nobody ever calls them out.

Well that’s ridiculous, lasers shooting into the sky with music at deathening levels, and fireworks firing off the roof? Sounds like an invite to me.

if they wanted to do the safest bet, it would have been to have lifted it on the middle of the pitch at the last game which is away ,but no, this means more so let’s make it special just for them.

Like I said, flimsy.

Entirely inappropriate for this to be happening amidst a pandemic that has taken tens of thousands of lives and livelihoods. Nobody can deny that the league champions should be presented with a trophy, but it should be on a podium in the centre circle with about ten seconds of fireworks and ticker tape LIKE EVERYONE ELSE WHO HAS EVER WON IT!!! The need to spend £1m on an empty disco (having previously tried to furlough low-paid staff) just shows them to be attention-seeking whores. Meanwhile Sky TV have made it free-to-air which, to my knowledge, they have never done for any previous champions. Their success always has to be 'bigga and more speshul' because they truly believe that they are a footballing deity.

Every other trophy lift is just a routine event. Why is this being treated like a big brother launch party. A few weeks of the media talking about other teams in competitions they’re not longer in has irked them so now they’re going for the tackiest trophy lift of all time.

They are the Jack and Vera Duckworth of football. Stone cladding the house front in the middle of a row of terraces, all in an attempt to show the neighbours who is classier, but actually conveying they are tacky and false.

Their whole club in a nutshell.

Klopp has fully bought into the cult. It stopped being special when the world was paralysed by COVID-19. They blew the 100 points last week so it won't eclipse every other title win.

That's the thing, yes they won the league but deep down they are pissed (even though they're saying they aren't arsed) that they never broke the points record or went the season unbeaten and my RS mate is a prime example, talking to him you can just tell that he needed both those things to have happened to have made their title win stand out.

This year will be remembered for a world pandemic with people dying all over the gaff when their title win is ever mentioned in a conversation.

Apparently their kicking off in town already

Would be good if Chelsea did them or even drew. They won’t even be as good as the City team last year who won back to back and also won a domestic treble. This lot have had what they thought was a perfect season of no injuries, no competition, every single VAR decision going their way, the top 6 crippled with injuries, transfer bans or rookie managers, and they’ve still fallen short of the invincibles, United’s treble winners, United 08/09, City with 100 points, or even City last season.

They’re stoke on steroids.

All that plus the fact that on their day, City are a much better football team than them.
