ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Unfortunately they were creeping over the line in plenty of games last season too. Think about the Sturridge equaliser, the winner against us, the last minute penalty Spurs were denied against them, the Mahrez missed penalty etc. The big moments have went their way but that won´t last forever.
Those were early games of season too, didn't they beat Huddersfield with a late winner as well.

IIRC they always seem to be sluggish and not convincing under Klopp in earlier parts of season, I wonder if it's the conditioning so their peak fitness and sharpness and coined " heavy metal" football arrives later on then other teams and why they finish the season strong.

I'd just like to say that I did post on Tuesday that De Gea would play and that United would give them a game

I've never been more pleased to be right :D

It doesn't matter what form United are in, they are always up to have a go at them, rather than half the teams in the prem who just seem to want to touch the This Is Anfield sign and get some autographs. Liverpool are not that good. They get by on fear from over-respectful opponents much of the time.

I noticed Carragher was doing the fastest U-Turn in history at the end today saying they would be 'delighted' with a point from a hard game. Absolute bloody claptrap, even from him. They were expecting to turn up and roll over United 3-0, and he well knows it

Would that be like last season when they were 10 points clear and managed to claw major disappointment from the jaws of sure joy and victory ?

Shame they have a crap spurs next week to get a nice easy win. Nice to see them drop points yesterday, just a shame United couldn't hold on for the win

I'm a bit disappointed. I've liked hearing 'Liverpool haven't dropped any points since they played Everton".

On United's goal, yes there might have been a foul on Origi, but it was just a bit of contact and there was still a lot to do to score the goal.

I mean, how far are you going to go back to see if there was any infringement?

Welcome back HK, disappointing result yesterday wasn't it

They’ll probably complain that every single major VAR decision was wrong this weekend expect for the two against them, so that constitutes cheating against them or something

Some are claiming that they not only have to beat a team, but they have to beat VAR and a Ref as well now. Of course, ignoring the fact that they drew the game. Plucky Liverpool, standing alone against wrong doing ha ha. They do not like it when they do not win do they.

Such a shame they scored that late goal. They always seem to have a 'get-out-of-jail-free' card these days. More poor defending lead to that.

That said - fair to say they struggled last night and against a fairly weak United side as well. What it did prove is that they can definately be got at if you play it smart. Playing it from the back more directly into the channels and having quick, athletic players like Rashford and James to put their fullbacks under pressure is a tatic that seems pretty effective.. even the worlds best centre half struggled at times with Rashford.

A stronger, more confident team would've beaten them last night. That said.. fair play to United like, first real kink in big red's armor there. Klopp absloutely loves a good moan and all, doesn't he? :coffee:

In Liverpool's case, how old are you mate. :)

There is a post on YNFA which shows Origi holding the "wrong" leg after being "fouled". (sorry don't know how to link).

Not every contact is a foul although I think the game is going this way aided and abetted by VAR and over excited pundits.
