ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

If loserpool lose tomorrow ( prays )

does that mean they can’t catch Leicester?
If they lose they’ll still be 9 behind Leicester, they’ll be 10 behind Chelsea if they beat Arsenal tonight. The RS play relegated WBA on Sunday, the other two meet in the FA Cup final on Saturday, so could close any gap but will be ruled out completely by a draw between the two in their league meeting next Tuesday with the RS facing Burnley a week tonight

Tottenham to have a run at the league bit was hilarious

Who knows if they keep Kane and Bale, get a decent manager in and buy a player or two at the back they could look at doing a 13/14 Liverpool and blast their way to a challenge if others at the top slip up.

You’re right though, as it’s Spurs it’s more likely they make some ridiculous flavour of the month managerial choice and go back to being mid table .

Thedy are in a really poor position right now: CL spot not defo gone, so they have to go for wins still; but if they secure another couple of wins they almost certainly cement themselves into a EL spot.

It'll be fun to watch.

If they fail to defeat United on Thursday I think they might cry the rest of the season in. Goal difference is very tight, so could go either way, so Leicester would only need 1-2 points to kick them out of it it, with Spurs at home to come and Chelsea's GD is much better so would essentially need 1 win from 3 games (which they hopefully get tonight). They will know it's all done.

What you get from Klopp and this group of players is they don't actually deal with adversity very well. A couple of players get injured and they implode, or they can't win the title they implode etc. They will likely drop 35 points from the season they won the league. It's a complete collapse really, and it began at the back end of last season as well, where they were hammered by Watford and defeated by Atletico Madrid.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Klopp playing some odd line ups, and the players switching off. Palace will be a shoe in win, as they are woeful, but Burnley and West Brom will prove challenging.

You have to fancy United too. They've already cruised to a draw at Anfield in 2nd gear, and stuck 3 pst them at OT earlier in the season. They are a better team and squad than Liverpool, so if they turn up they will get a result. Cavani v Phillips & Williams as should Rashford v Arnold. Complete mis-match.

This is a big possibility. Hopefully the rs will be suffering next year too. And Leicester could have a blip quite easily if they lost a player or two to injury. We're obviously equally liable to screw up ourselves, but hopefully we get a better chance next year and can take it.

Never a better time to strengthen the team this summer.

Will be interesting to see the motivation of Spurs and Liverpool if/when top 4 disappears for them. Do they want europa, will they look to actually try and avoid it to have a run at the league next season. That said it’s probably the easiest route into the CL these days as it’s probably harder to finish 4th. I’m hoping Liverpool lose to United then lose focus as the CL is all but gone. Would be ideal if we could finish ahead of Arsenal Spurs and Liverpool.

I think Spurs may already be on the beach.

I agree but you fail to mention that West Ham still have more points than them with only 1 extra game played.

A preplanned draw between Chelsea and Leicester would be a thing of great beauty
It would I am sure stir up some conspiracy theories on RAWK

You mean if Leicester and Chelsea play out a draw they know they will not go through? The point each will be enough, be funny if they do with zero efforts to win

The Athletic did a good piece on their finances a few months back, which essentially boiled down to if they don’t make the Top 4, they’re in for a grim summer with the way FSG have made the club run

I, for one, hope they go down next term

....I thought a summer cash windfall was recently announced for them.
