Lets not jump straight away with the police could have done better line, what is their alternative to robust policing if they are faced with hundreds, possibly thousands there who are looking to illegally get into the stadium that we all know, could have led to serious risk of death? That isn't a time to nicely ask each person who they bought the ticket off etc, if the ticket doesn't go through the machine, they need moving away from the vulnerable areas to protect those already inside the stadium from the very real risks. It is too late to act once that problem has started to happen, they have to stop it happening. Asking politely big drunk/coked up crowds (I know many decent people are in there too) to act nicely doesn't work, on this occasion, I'm on the cops side, and their actions did prevent any serious issue inside the stadium. We know what could have happened if the gates were compromised by large crowds and that didnt seem to happen.
