Chickens coming home to roost springs to mind. I have sympathy for the individual RS fans - the decent ones - who've clearly been caught up in this.Absolute scatter gun approach from fans and media this morning blaming every single angle with not an ounce of accountability. That’s the bit that irks me, nobody has said ‘there shouldn’t have been fans there without tickets or fake tickets’ etc.
I’m not saying it’s all Liverpool’s fault either. Clearly a major issue at the stadium last night and I genuinely feel for fans who had a horrendous time.
However, the legacy of their historical behaviour will sway the opinion of the authorities - who would the French cops have been weary of? We know the answer.
Were their major issues with Madrid fans being delayed? Did it appear as if there was a serious issue with Madrid fans having fake tickets or bunking in?
Which set of fans have been shown to be involved in trouble? There's a common denominator here and perhaps they finally need to admit it.
Everyone else can see the elephant in the room.
