ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

From when the possible host nations are named until the winner is announced, there is an interlude of years. There was plenty of time for the journalists to speak out. As for blaming the football authorities. Surely it should be the job of journalists to hold the football authorities to account.

That's not really a journalists job mate, their job is to report the news.

It's an interesting question as to who should hold Fifa to account. Maybe as fans we have to take some responsibility?

Or the clubs, players and manager’s speak out for a change.
With top-flight players being so well paid, they have a huge voice - and in this case, it’s a tail that should wag the dog.

I think a lot did though.

But either way, surely the responsibility lies with the idiot's who chose to give it to Qatar? Some journo at The Daily Mirror is not really going to have any power in that decision.

The blame lies with footballs authorities, doesnt it?
The press wanted an English bid to succeed at the time. No one supported it. As if fifa listens to national press. Each country will be different

It really is a journalists job, their job is to tell a story and if that story is people in power taking back handers, it is exactly what they should be doing.
