ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I dunno, they could do a united, and drop off, especially since there are more clubs who are getting it together like Aresenal, maybe even Newcastle

The amount of investment is less important than what you do with it.

All of the top 6 (perhaps with the exception of Spurs) have pretty much got unlimited budgets within FFP. There hasn’t been a player that United couldn’t buy because they couldn’t afford him. Chelsea have just spent about 170 mill on three defenders. Both are currently in a scrap for the top 4 and haven’t been near the title in years. They’ve all got squads where they have top players in every position and in reserve.

PSG have thrown more money than anyone at it and made one CL final, City the same.

It comes down to having the best managerial talent and giving them the best players and maintaining that balance for a long duration. Madrid did it with Ancelotti and Zidane without spending huge money. City are doing it with Guardiola.

Liverpool have more of a chance at sustaining dominance with Klopp than they do with new owners. Unless they’re going to replace him with one of Guardiola Zidane Ancelotti then there’s a high likelihood the new manager won’t be better than the one they have. Chelsea have only won the league recently under Mourinho Ancelotti and Conte despite having every manager under the sun there with unlimited budget to spend.

My hope is that Guardiola carries on at City and sees Klopp off before new owners come in and Klopp decided to carry on.

Mukesh Ambani ($91 billion net worth) is supposed to have bid £3 billion last april with other bids in 17,18 and 21, apparently he's the only bidder so far right now (Twitter), with FFP dead in the water and the Saudi's in the PL and a world recession it's no surprise they want to cash out to buy a NBA team.

NBA are adding two expansion teams, one in Las Vegas and the other in Seattle, FSG and Lebron (he's a FSG shareholder) are rumoured to be buying the Las Vegas team.

Is there a source for this mate? I dont seem to remember any news of bids last april.

And yes, I mixture of knowing he cant restructure football, compete at the top end and further enhance LFC commercially are the basic reasoning.

Henry is a contrarian, but if he gets anywhere near those figures its hard to conclude he hasnt got the best end of any such deal.

FSG/RS finances are not all that apparently. As in, the cost (interest) of owning the club has gone a bit bonkers, stateside. Thats before you even look at the stuff like wages, recruitment, net (haha) spend, ground development.

A "distressed asset" was one comment earlier.

They, FSG, will make a bomb if they off load it, obvs, but the pool of potential buyers is, again, apparently, compromised.

FSG have simply realised they don't have anywhere near the required resources to keep up over the next 10 years. The party is only just starting...

They sold 11% last year for 750 million dollars.

Makes perfect sense to get out now before having to invest heavilly into the squad to keep up with City.

My mistake it was April 2021, these links say the sole bid was from the Middle East (Mukesh Ambani is based in Dubai).

All these links are dated April 2021.
