Didn’t many predict that as it was a WC year, and that anti-doping testing is increased, that the mighty peds wouldn’t be as good this season due to the lack of salbutamol and kloppozade flowing through the veins of the weeeerrrrllldddd class tricky reds? The silence from the media is deafening….

How else can you explain them going from the quad that never was (but still going deep in all competitions) with minimal changes to the starting line up every match and few injuries, to this current form and performance of their big names, and the niggling injuries that they now seem to be picking up?

The drop offs aren’t normal but no one questions it.

United arguably have better players in key positions down the spine. There’s no way you’d have a combined 11 that doesn’t include Varane, Casemiro, Eriksen, Fernandes, Rashford

Even Lisandro Martinez and Dalot should probably be in ahead of Van Dijk and TAA on current form.

Ten Hag has got them sorted out. I think they’ll be a shoo in this season and it’s a scrap for fourth between Newcastle Spurs Liverpool Chelsea. It was there for the taking for Spurs given the start they had but they’ve messed it up and fallen back into the pack.

They’re spending hundreds of millions on wages each year. Even if they had £200m in the transfer kitty, I imagine they’ll be at tipping point with wages/FFP especially with the threat of no CL and their plastic fan base dropping off.
