ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

One was a winning goal in a 4-3 in a regular season game, not sure how it's any different to any of the other 4-3s we've seen over the years, except it was the first on sly.

The other was a last minute league title clincher. There is plenty you can add to ramp it up, the fact their city rivals were above them and winning the league before it went in, or the fact it was city's first title since the 60s and represented a watershed in English football, retrospectively speaking. But the fact it won the league is enough.

And they're convinced he hates them because he says the truth once every decade

If it doesn't involve them it rarely counts although I remember a few of them claiming that Aguero winner at the time.

I will re-iterate though, that 4:3 was a game and a half.

Where one of the teams were top and beginning to spiral, one of the pivotal games that helped United claw back the deficit to reclaim the title back after losing it to Blackburn

Sky try and turn every home game for Liverpool into some sort of PL classic. Micah Richards going on about the 2-2 draw with Arsenal which pretty much shafted both team’s seasons as the best game he’s ever seen was just a prime example of the sort of stupidity they come out with to try and keep big red relevant.

Stones doing this role to win a treble with City is one thing but ‘Trent’ has taken it to a whole new level with his masterclasses against Leicester, Southampton, and Malta. Has there been a better midfielder in the premier league since Gerrard? They’re in a class of their own for how the ball sounds when they strike it. Sure De Bruyne and Silva were good but it’s the opinion of this author that they never stirred the emotion in the same way Stevie did and now Trent his heir apparent is doing. Ilkay Gundogan has had a fine season no question but once again the best midfielder in the premier league plays in red. Going from right back to iconic central midfielder is a path famous in Anfield folklore and it looks as though another son of Shankley has now made that journey. Liverpool fans have too much class and dignity to say ‘I told you so’ but it’s yet another example of Klopp outhinking Pep making the most of what limited resources he has whilst his counterpart once again goes summer shopping.

I'm looking forward to the time when Trent Whatever Alexanderson faces a Spain or Croatia and we see him "wowing with the vision and precision of his passing".

This BS is as much about Southgate trying to give himself a reboot too - a manager with developing ideas about progressing the team yada yada yada.

A pair of frauds leaning into each other for support.

he certainly put it about a bit, the dirty old dog.

We all remember the RS Jarg narrative awhile back, that 'Trent was re-inventing the role of a right back'.

The Kult could not admit that he was useless in that role, so now he becomes the 'bestest midfield player in da werld'.

The media all join in, and history will be rewritten again.

This was just before he invented the throw in, and a bit after Thiago invented kicking a ball, quite a while after Klopp invented pressing.

The LFC dominated media will not give any credit to an England team without the involvement of an LFC player. They are crapping themselves that any England success is done without that lot involved - hence the 'Henderson is vital to squad morale and should be picked' (or some slant on that bull). Arnold has been found out as a right back who can't read the game and is crap at defending - a vital component for a defender. His exclusion from England squads has meant less view/clicks etc. for the LFC supporting and LFC sycophantic reporters.
The 'full back into midfield' was noticeable first with Arteta's Arsenal this season with Zinchenko moving into a midfield role when attacking. That Guardiola asked Stones to do the same role would suggest that maybe him and Arteta had talked about it at City. If I'm not mistaken, our very own Gary Stevens used to often drift into a right sided midfield role.
But no doubt the LFC dominated media, and sycophantic sidekicks, will hail the 'footballing mastermind' Klopp as the 'inventor' of this "new" role. And no doubt, we will all be bombarded with this all summer. Let's see how Arnold, LFC and England cope against much stiffer opposition.
