Embarrassing and tone deaf

The thing for me here is, I’m more than happy to laugh at the kopites who always banged on about how ‘Hendo’ ‘stood up for what was right’ and ‘was the captain of captains’ but I genuinely feel sad for LGBTQ+ football fans who thought they had an actual ally here.

I also feel bad for the statistically hundreds of gay players who are in the closet. Just as things seemed to be getting better and it felt like we might even have premier league players coming out openly soon we have a player who seemed to be firmly in their camp and on their side and would have their back if they came out completely disregard any belief he pretended to have to go and work for people who literally imprison gays. Disgraceful.

It is like with Mickleson et al, saying they are growing the game, etc. Needs somebody in football like Harold Varner III who called them all out and told everybody straight that it was the money.

If Henderson, or any of the players were offered the same amount of money, that they were to play in Saudi, to play in a European top division or maybe even the US. What do we think they would choose, we know the answer but would they be honest about it.

Its refreshing to see that, in these times of woke hand -wringing every where you turn, the RS have their own automatic swivel which defies any moral compass. Amazingly it works both ways....examples being the shameful Furlough episode - instant turnabout and smoke-screen re the "mistake" when called out on it; the Euro breakaway super six fiasco in which they were major architects till that was vilified and named and shamed. Didnt stop them turning poacher to gamekeeper with noble Henderson i/c damage limitation and taking the glory for righting the wrong they were up to their eyes in from the off. This latest LGBT virtueless disgrace, in which hes the core element, wont be erased as easily.
