ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Just watching it back then and thought it was really odd. That kind of collapse simply doesn't happen with a proper leader at the middle of it. After the first goes in, a Roy Keane, Vieira, Terry etc put their foot down, calm everyone and it finishes 3-1 or 3-2 at worst. But look at the breakaway for Palace's second. Chaos. Absolutely no leadership or organisation. He was broken after the Slip. Complete shell of a man, going through the motions.

It really is great to see.

it would have been the worst team ever to win a big league, mainly because of the reasons you mention above. that 10 min clip was a full on assault from a team i think had only just beaten the drop? City would lose games, but they'd never been ambushed and ripped apart, sliced open like that.

The reality is the season is going to have to be void, I really don't understand why the RS don't understand this. Playing behind closed doors isn't going to work, because you'll still have large numbers of people either wanting to watch it in pubs or you'll have the usual idiotic RS who will turn up to let off flares or welcome them to grounds. Also clubs fighting relegation aren't going to want to play behind closed doors, because it destroys their home advantage. We don't have a clue when this is going to stop, when the a Tory government shut down pubs and restaurants and other things you know it's serious. All these idiotic RS, talking about how is isn't fair if they void the season, think of people who are ill and dying. Think of all the people who may have lost jobs, who have spent money of holidays and things of that nature. Even if they didn't win it this season, a sensible person would just say there's more important things going on in the world. I'm not aware of any other clubs fans in Europe who are top of the league moaning about how they're not going to win the league.
You're forgetting though that 'it means more' to them.

It really was but they couldn't really sit on a 1 or 2 goal victory given the circumstances with goal difference. Everything about the mentality of the players both on the pitch and in the build up to the game was defined by a need to absolutely hammer Palace and Newcastle in their remaining matches.

Instead of looking to shore up the mentality seemed to be "We'll just have to score more...". Given that their defence was not their strength at that time and there was a clear need to win big or go home it's arguably a logical decision. It could just as easily have finished 5-1 after that first Palace goal with luck but it was joyful carnage instead.

Another day, another puke worthy pointless disgusting article about the RS from the BBC, what a poor excuse of a broadcasting system
They get classed as “essential workers” even though there’s no sport to report on. Honestly winds me up no end. My mate works for sky, and he’s still working and I can certainly tell you, he’s not essential especially now.

Apologies if this has been posted, but they really are a bunch of self obsessed deluded bel ends.

They invented clapping the opposition goalie apparently.

Honestly they really are a joke of a fan base, their delusions of grandeur have no limits. Most of their ground is full or tourists, plus it's like a library most weeks, most grounds are but their fans are the only ones with the exception of Palace pretending to be Ultras. The funniest thing about them is this nonsense about being loyal supporters, Liverpool haven't really gone through a bad patch by most clubs standards since the 60's, yet they pretend to be loyal, When they went on a bad spell under Hodgson, they couldn't even sell out against Utrecht when you could have as many kids tickets as you wanted if an adult went with them. Our attendances from around 2006 to 2016 were pretty steady around 35 000 to 36 000 each week, usually selling out every away game. In recent years we've sold out pretty much every home game and away game in the league despite being awful. We've taken 10 000 supporters to Lille and that's when we doing pretty poorly, really it is amazing considering how awful we've been in recent years, how we've been able to keep such a loyal salt of the earth support. To be fair to United they always had a great support even when they were crap in the 1970's and 1980's so you can even let them off. Clubs like Everton, Sunderland, Newcastle, Leeds, and other clubs who have kept and pretty consistent support deserve far more respect than them. Clubs in Europe such as Napoli, Mochengladbach and Athletico those fans have remained loyal in their ups and downs deserve far more respect than them. Their contrived flag waving and letting off flares is just ridiculous and just makes them look even more idiotic than they usually do.
