I’ve absolutely no interest in arguing about whether he is as or not, but that’s what the club said and what they felt.

They weren’t supporting a racist, they were supporting someone they felt had been unfairly cast as one.

I think lots of people at the time and since thought it was an error to wear those T-shirt’s, but irrespective it wasn’t a racist gesture.

Right where do I start with this.

1. Your club PUBLICLY defended a player accused of racially abusing another player based on the testimony of the player (who was later found to be lying). Ill advised or not, you defended a racist in the vain attempt to not annoy him so he would leave - as he was your best player by a country mile. He was found guilty of using racially abusive slurs therefore your club (from the top right the way down to the fans, including death threats) defended a player deemed racist by the FA. That's a fact.

2. Bloke imitating a monkey aimed towards Patrice Evra, caught on camera & later banned by LFC, Again a fact.

3. Fans in Barcelona racially abusing an elderly Asian gentleman, caught on camera as well as 6 fans arrested for assault - Club starts an investigation. Fact.

4. This young lady racially abused by Liverpool fans on a train full of witnesses. Fact.

I've not said that Everton doesn't have it's share of idiots - of course it does and it'd be ridiculous to say otherwise, it just seems to be more widespread with your lot, like the violence and abusive behaviour - yet you come onto an Everton website trying to claim that your fans are just the same as every other teams... They aren't.

And yes the comment about the penalties... The Echo is just a gift that keeps on giving. They clearly have little or no idea how silly they actually look writing that kind of stuff. They lost the game on penalities but actually, they were better at penalties than the team who beat them in a penalty shoot out. Oh my days!
