ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I accept they constantly want to have a go at us. But I'm now seeing some of their fans have the high and mighty to start cryarseing about swearing being picked up by pitchside mics at our home games and use at just how abusive we are.

But of course, the whiter than white, jovial, self-styled 'best fans in the land' have never been guilty of this kind of behaviour have they. I'm sure they've never ever swore at the match...

Incredibly their forwards just don't seem to get injuries that much and historically, when their forwards move on, with the notable exception of Suarez, their knackered and never the same again. They pick the same front three almost every week.

Half of Klopp’s Dortmund team were broken by him. I mean Sahin Goetze Bender Subotic Schneider Reus have all either seen their form nosedive or injuries do their careers. It’s only really been Lewandowski and Hummels that have gone on to keep that top level. I wonder what Gundogan would look like in any team other than City as he’s definitely not the player he was.

Or maybe the drugs just wore off when they went elsewhere.

I kept on hearing some dude from the GS shouting at Siggy on corners and calling him a gobsh****, made me chuckle as I don't think Siggy had done anything special to deserve the moniker. The LGS occupant must have some form of Tourettes.

i absolutely love it when that happens! Craven Cottage is the same. There's always some Cockney geezer swearing his head off in range of the pitch side mics. It's in all the old grounds where the fans are close to the pitch. The hurried apologies from the commentary team never fail to make me chuckle.

No bias whatsoever.

Text below the photo that shows the RS on the Champions League bus - European champions Liverpool lead the way among English teams with seven nominations. City winning 3 trophies means nothing it would seem.

3rd paragraph - Seven of Liverpool's European champions are included although Real Madrid and Barcelona each provided more players.

9th paragraph - Nine of Barca's championship team were included as Real Madrid had eight players, while Liverpool and Manchester City both had seven players.

No bias whatsoever.

And you didn't think the BBC was biased because............?

Defo doping. The PL drug testers probably don't even drug test their team so they can get good tickets for CL games.

Sky sports are utterly obsessed with them across the park, was on the website before and saw an article with the title “Your teams playing style?” and decided to have a look.

When they get to the teams they start by saying Liverpool are “trailing City by the smallest margins” with City superior in “almost all advanced metrics”, understandable considering City won everything in England last season.

Come back out on the main page and its suddenly changed to “ Who tries to play like Liverpool?”, there must be a reason for the change in title? And why not “Who tries to play like city?”

Hate them that much that even stupid things like this start to wind me up nowadays.

I saw that before, it is one of the most ridiculous things I think I've ever read. Liverpool are a long ball team, no matter how Sky want to cut it and try to compare them to City using "advanced metrics" and other such nonsense. Liverpool don't play through their midfield, which consists of 3 very rudimentary players like Henderson, Milner and Fabinho.

Liverpool try and go over the top at every opportunity to their front 3, cross the ball from virtually any position on the pitch with their full backs and play blind direct passes from their centre backs rather than going short to their midfielders.

And this isn't a knock against the RS, there's more than one way to skin a cat and clearly their style is unbelievably effective. Sky trying to turn it into something that it isn't, and using it as the gold standard on how teams should set up rather than the team that routinely betters their results is utterly laughable.

Because the RS invented footy.

So the RS lead the way among English teams with seven nominations, even though Man City also had seven nominations.

I don't want to defend the rs, but they don't just knock it over the top at every opportunity. You could level that accusation at Houllier's rs team with Owen in it. That was the way Wolves played against us the other day. They do try and sucker the opposition up the pitch to leave space in behind, and they do knock it long in the channels sometimes, but they also break quickly and run with the ball at feet. This is usually done by Mane or Salah, as they come very deep to get the ball, and the 3 water carriers in midfield are just there to win it for them. As you say, there's more than 1 way to win, Fergie's Utd weren't averse to hoofing it. The rs do play that way when they're pressured (eg against us in both derbies last season) but it's not their MO.
